Habitat

Raccoons are native to North America, mainly the US, but they have been brought to other parts of the world and are now seen in places in Europe. They are nocturnal creatures and sleep during the day. Raccoons will live pretty much anywhere which is why they can be seen from wild forests to urban settings. They don’t always sleep in the same place every night but they are usually found in hollow trees, crevices in structures, attics, basements, large root systems and more.

Predators

Their main predators are bobcats, foxes, wolves, and mountain lions. The only one that is located in Atlantic City are foxes. The other predator would be humans as we hit raccoons all the time.

Prey/Diet

Raccoons are omnivores and like seagulls, eat anything they can. Their main and favorite prey though is fish. They also like fruits, nuts, berries, and corn. In more urban settings, they ransack trash cans or other areas where humans discard food.
